big brother ratings aug 28 TV ratings: 'Big Brother' tops Thursday, 'The Quest' risesFast National ratings for Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014

Summer TV is fast coming to a close, which means there weren’t many new shows on Thursday night this week. However, there were NFL preseason games airing in at least some markets on every network — even The CW — so ratings are boosted across the board before they are adjusted for timezones.

“Big Brother” was once again the top show of the night, in both total viewers and the 18-49 demo and it will likely stay on top even once the ratings are adjusted. Elsewhere, the double dose of ABC’s “The Quest” was up, as was the season finale of “Welcome to Sweden” on NBC.

The win in total viewers went to CBS with 6.1 million and a 4.0 rating/7 share in households, followed by NBC with 4.9 million and a 3.2/6, FOX with 4.7 million and a 2.9/5, ABC with 4 million and a 2.6/4 and The CW with 1.3 million and a 0.8/1 — though again, almost all of those numbers are inflated by NFL preseason games.

In the adults 18-49 demo, CBS also wins with a 1.7, followed by FOX (1.3), NBC (1.2), ABC (1.0) and The CW (0.5).
