The final season of “Parks and Recreation” premiered to better numbers than last season in the Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015. The first of two episodes drew the show’s biggest audience in almost two years.
Despite the improvements, however, “Parks” was still just fourth for its hour. “NCIS,” which was even with last week, led CBS to an across-the-board win for the night. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” fell by about 20 percent in adults 18-49 from its premiere. “The Mindy Project” ticked up for FOX, while “Masterchef Junior” and “New Girl” were pretty steady.
CBS averaged 15.3 million viewers and a 9.4 rating/15 share in households for the night, more than doubling the total for second-place ABC (5.7 million, 3.6/6). NBC (4.2 million, 2.7/4) came in third. FOX (3.8 million, 2.3/4) took fourth, and The CW (1.4 million, 0.9/1) trailed.
CBS also led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.2 rating. ABC and FOX tied for second at 1.4, just ahead of NBC’s 1.3. The CW earned a 0.4.
