scandal ratings jan 29 15 TV ratings: 'Scandal' returns big, 'Parenthood' ends on up note Thursday

The return of ABC’s “TGIT” lineup scored big in the Fast National ratings for Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, with “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” improving on their fall finales and “How to Get Away With Murder” holding pretty steady. 
Also Thursday, the series finale of “Parenthood” scored its best ratings in two-plus years, and “The Biggest Loser” finale also posted gains for NBC. “The Big Bang Theory” led the night in adults 18-49, while “Mom” hit a series high in the demographic for CBS. The heavier competition drove “American Idol” down on FOX, and “Backstrom” also took a hit in its second week.
CBS topped the night in viewers with 10.2 million and a 6.2 rating/10 share in households. ABC (9.4 million, 6.2/10) was a close second. FOX (7.3 million, 4.4/7) came in third, followed by NBC with 5.4 million viewers and a 3.4/6. The CW brought up the rear with 1.25 million viewers and a 0.8/1.
ABC grabbed the No. 1 spot among adults 18-49 with a 3.1 rating. CBS took second with a 2.3, followed by FOX, 1.8, and NBC, 1.5. The CW posted a 0.5.
