“The Flash” sprinted out of the gate Tuesday, giving The CW its best premiere audience (4.5 million people) and adults 18-49 rating (1.8) since “The Vampire Diaries” debuted in 2009. It also finished third in its hour across the board, ahead of both ABC and FOX. “Supernatural,” meanwhile, premiered to numbers on par with last season (pending updates).

On ABC, the second episodes of “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story” each fell off from their premieres, with “Manhattan” falling below a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and “Selfie” barely staying above it. NBC was down as it aired a “Voice” recap show, while both “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans” held steady for CBS.

CBS easily led the night in viewers with 14.1 million and an 8.8 rating/15 share in households. NBC (8.8 million, 5.6/9) came in second. ABC (4.4 million, 2.9/5) took third, and The CW (3.7 million, 2.2/4) topped FOX (2.2 million, 1.4/2) for fourth.

NBC won the adults 18-49 title with a 2.3 rating, edging CBS’ 2.2. The CW came in third with a 1.5, followed by ABC, 1.3, and FOX, 1.0.
