A short but fun teaser for Showtime’s 2017 revival of “Twin Peaks” has arrived, reintroducing fans to the infamous town, which is described as a “living painting.”

In the quick clip, the Welcome to Twin peaks sign is unveiled for the first time since the original series was canceled. Make a note that the population of Twin Peaks is exactly the same, which is an interesting touch. Whether or not that means something more remains to be seen.

In the final seconds of the short trailer, a strange sound plays as quick foggy shots of a person appear on screen. It seems David Lynch is having a bit of fun, tossing himself into the teaser in the most David Lynch way possible. The eccentric director will never let his fans down.

“Twin Peaks” is still over a year away, but with little teases like this popping up now and then, it a good reminder that this sequel series is somehow very real and actually going to happen. If that’s not a TV miracle, what is?
