Hearts broke all around the world when "The Vampire Diaries" announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Season 8 would be its final season. Say it ain't so!

As we prepare to say goodbye to everyone in Mystic Falls, Screener couldn't help but wonder what the cast envisions as their own perfect ending for their characters and the series?

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have a dark future envisioned for Damon and Stefan, suggesting that the two brothers should basically commit suicide by taking off their daylight rings and walking into the sun. It sounds too dark to be true, but you just never know with "The Vampire Diaries."

Zach Roerig came up with an even more shocking idea for Matt. "If I could envision a happy ending for Matt Donovan after seven years of not finding love," Roerig says, "It would be that maybe he discovers his inner love, which is maybe the fact that he's not into chicks."

Whether "The Vampire Diaries" ends with a gay Matt, a double suicide, or the long-awaited Delena reunion, we're definitely going to be crying our way through the entire thing. #TVDForever

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
