The 2015 Women’s World Cup champions are getting a ticker-tape parade in New York City Friday (July 10). It’s the first ticker-tape parade for a women’s sports team in New York City history.

The U.S. Women’s National Team won the 2015 World Cup in spectacular fashion, with a 2-0 victory over No. 1-ranked Germany in the semifinals and then a decisive 5-2 victory over Japan in the finals. It is Team USA’s third World Cup gold medal.

Following the parade, Mayor Bill de Blasio will hand the team the keys to the city in a ceremony at City Hall Park.
