On Wednesday (Oct. 5), The CW is debuting an old favorite and a potential new hit, Mariah Carey is lending her golden pipes to “Empire,” it’s the “Last Sunday Funday” on “You’re the Worst” and the “Black-ish” family wades into the presidential election.

‘Arrow’ premiere, 8 p.m., The CW

“Arrow” Season 5 introduces a new, deadly foe in Tobias Church, while using flashbacks to show how Oliver (Stephen Amell) has previously faced off with the Bratva.

‘Empire,’ 9 p.m., FOX

Mariah Carey guest stars as a music diva named Kitty, which by itself would be reason enough to tune in, but her duet with Jamal (Jussie Smollett) should be dynamite — if they can get along long enough to record it.

‘Frequency’ series premiere, 9 p.m., The CW

One of the best pilots of the 2016-17 season, “Frequency” sees present-day NYPD Detective Raimy Sullivan (Peyton List) discover she can communite with her long-dead father via an old ham radio in the garage. But her meddling with time has immediate and dire consequences.

‘Black-ish,’ 9:30 p.m., ABC

The Johnson family is tackling the 2016 presidential election, as Pops (Laurence Fishburne), Johan (Daveed Diggs) and Jack (Miles Brown) wade into the political discussion.

‘You’re the Worst,’ 10 p.m., FX

It’s “The Last Sunday Funday,” which we hope is not actually true since the show has been renewed for a fourth season and this super fun episode has become an annual tradition. But if this is the last one, we hope they go out with a bang. Chant it with us: “Sunday funday, better than a Monday. Can only do it one way and that is the drunk way!”
