"Mr. Robot" was easily the buzziest show of summer 2015 and the Golden Globes took notice. The hacker drama -- starring Rami Malek, Christian Slater (who won the Golden Globe as well), Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday and Martin Wallstrom -- premiered on June 24 to rave reviews and just kept earning more and more fans every week.

When Slater won his hardware, he made sure to thank "Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail, who he calls "a creative and brilliant genius."

Esmail seemed a bit flustered when the show won best drama, which is understandable -- it's basically his first project other than a couple small films. But he praised the "amazing cast, led by the brilliant performance of Rami Malek" and then gave a shout-out to his fiancee, "Shameless" actress Emmy Rossum, for "recommending Rami to me" and for being Esmail's best friend.

If you're wondering what all the fuss over "Mr. Robot," is about, now's the time to get caught up, because Season 2 premieres summer 2016. If Season 1 is any indication, with its enthralling, anarchist drama coupled with a few mind-blowing twists, Season 2 is going to be incredible.

The show is available for free on USA's network site, plus Amazon Prime has it streaming for purchase. The DVD/Blu-ray is also due out Tuesday (Jan. 12), which includes a making-of featurette, deleted scenes and a gag reel.
